Part of ISO A Series Sizes
A7 is obtained by folding an A6 size paper, which means two adjacent A7 papers are equivalent in size to an A6 paper.. Then by folding an A7 along its shortest side, an A8 document can be created. With this method, A paper sizes is formed from A0 (with an area of 1 square meter) to A10. The aspect ratio of all sizes remains constant (1:1.414 or √2:1).
The ISO A sizes were first introduced in 1922 in Germany as DIN standard 476, and has since been widely implemented in most developed countries around the world, including in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. From below picture you can find where the ISO paper sizes are applied and where the US paper sizes applied in the world.
As a smaller one in the A series, A7 paper size is portal, cost-effective, and convenient. It is small enough to fit in a wallet, purse, or backpack, and easy to carry around for quick access to jot down notes or important information. So normally it is used for printing small items, such as Labels, postcards, business cards, small flyers, and notepads; also event invitations, greeting cards, thank-you notes, etc. Business owners and graphic designers can take this size to make promotional materials for their business or products. It also allows for economical use of space in file cabinets or storage boxes. Digital cameras with good image quality and a DPI of 1 million pixels or higher can be used to print high-quality images in A7 size too.
A7 size requires less paper than larger sizes, especially when printing a large quantity of items like notepads or business cards. And the materials with a A7 size is easy to store, file, and transport.
The A7 size is too small to fit for some bigger things due to the limited space. For example, when used for printing larger large amounts of text or graphics or large-scale charts or diagrams on a single sheet, the printing may not be easily visible when showing the details. And, it may not be compatible with most printers, users may have to resort to manual printing or seek out a specialized printer instead, which is completely not convenient- Imagine that you need to find a new printer in office while everyone is busy on a project.
